Oh, forgot I had a blog...

Can you believe my last posting was in November...Boy, what has happened since then...? More like...what hasn't happened. Lexie is now crawling like crazy and just starting to pull herself up. Did you know babies get taller when they are standing??? She is talking a lot(yes, just like her Mama). She is working on her "B" words...bird and book and even bottle...she only really gets out "ba", but it is pretty cute. She is 10 moths now and really working on pushing the limits with us. It is soooo funny how they just know they are not supposed to be doing something...they look at you to make sure you are looking at them and they go right ahead and do exactly what you don't want them to do...and when you tell them "No"...they look at you as if to say "whatever Mom" and test the limits by doing it again...frustrating...Lexie's favorite are the light sockets...and all the while they have this look on their face like, "Oh, you cannot get mad at me...look how cute I am"...but not sooo cute when she is trying to take the white plastic plug out of the light socket...why are those so tempting to babies...?

We took a drive up to see my Dad and Patty for Memorial weekend. What a drive...6 hours...and Lexie did GREAT!!!! She is such the little traveler. She had her first fishing trip. Can you imaging a 10 month old baby on a fishing boat with a life jacket on...she couldn't move. It was like she was in a brace from head to knees...but safety is first priority. Dad took Phil and I on a Mule ride on Sunday (Patty hung out with Lexie for the day)...we saw some amazing views and even some snow...it was just beautiful. Lexie rode on "Cat" the Mule with Dad for a couple of minutes when we got back...she did great and was smiling until the wind came up...then it was Scream City...she very much dislikes the wind. We had a great time, but had to pack up and head home on Monday morning.

Oh, Lexie started her swim lessons last Saturday...what fun...it was a parent-tot swim class...My Mom came and watched. They sing songs and get the babies used to the pool. Some babies were squealing in delight, some were screaming in terror and other were in a fog...Mine was the loudest squealing in delight...she LOVES the pool...she kicked a lot, floated on her back and belly. Then it came time to put her under water....can you say TERRIFYING...for me...I was sooo freaked out...but, I did it...actually I should say Lexie did it...like a little dolphin...under the water and back up again...I wiped the water from her eyes and looked at her hoping and praying she wouldn't cry...instead...she had the biggest smile on her face...it was hilarious...what a relief...she is definitely a little water baby.
