Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic

Well, it was a really EARLY morning at our house. The Hot Air Balloon Classic started this morning at 5am with the Dawn Patrol. Then followed by the Main Launch at 6:30am...so we set the alarm for 4:45am so we would have plenty of time to get up and get Lexie changed and fed before we had to leave...But, the phone rang at 6am...and I reached to answer it. It was my Mom calling...asking if Phil, Lexie and I were awake (she was standing outside our front door) and ready to go. I freaked out and jumped out of bed realizing what time it was...DARN THAT ALARM CLOCK...it never went off. So, Mom came in and Phil and I hopped out of bed and threw some clothes on (yuck, a no makeup morning). Then got Lexie up in a flash and were out the door in 10 minutes...Since the festival was at Keiser Park, we decided to walk(better not to have to find a place to park and it is only a 15minute walk), so we put Lexie in the stroller and away we went.

Did you know that the weather conditions have to be just right for the balloons to launch??? We got in the park and decided we needed something warm to drink. And since nothing really started happening until about 7am, we had plenty of time to relax and feed Lexie her morning bottle.

We found a good spot an waited...and waited...and waited...Lexie was just enjoying being outside...and then one by one the balloons started to inflate...

Lexie was really exited...there was Mr. Potato Head (we still say it was a beaver) right in front of us...she couldn't stop staring at it...

and there was a fish...and a Flying Purple People Eater...

The look on Lexie's face...Priceless...She had a great time...and in the end, this is just some of what we saw in the sky:
Oh, I forgot to mention the Energizer Bunny...it was HUGE!!!!
